Welcome to our non-profit organisation, committed to nurturing junior pickleball across the UK. We aim to build a vibrant community of young players, enthusiastic clubs, and dedicated volunteers. Together, we create opportunities for youth to engage, learn, and thrive in this exciting sport while fostering a lifelong passion for pickleball.
The UK Junior Pickleball Association was born out of a simple idea — that every young person should have the chance to discover pickleball, learn, compete, and grow through the game.
Behind the UKJPA is a small but passionate team led by Brennan Woollands, a qualified coach and sports professional with backgrounds in youth development, coaching, and sport management.
Brennan’s journey combines academic knowledge—through a BA (Hons) in Football Coaching and an ongoing MSc in International Sports Management—with first-hand experience from years spent developing young players in grassroots and performance settings across multiple sports.
But this isn’t just professional — it’s personal. Brennan’s son, Jonah, discovered pickleball and fell in love with the game. Watching his enthusiasm but noticing the lack of structured opportunities for young players inspired Brennan to create something more lasting: a space where young, passionate players could play, compete, and feel part of a bigger movement.
“As a parent and coach, I felt a duty to take action—to make sure the next generation has a pathway that’s inclusive, accessible, and built on the right values. UKJPA is about community first, competition second, and opportunity for all.”
Today, the UKJPA works with clubs, schools, and communities to create youth-focused pickleball events, learning opportunities, and pathways that put players—and their love for the game— at the heart of everything we do.
We believe pickleball offers something unique — a game that is accessible, social, and competitive, regardless of background or ability. Our mission is to make sure every young person has the chance to play, develop and belong.
Our aims are simple:
To create more opportunities for children aged 10–16 to play and compete.
To partner with schools, clubs and communities to promote inclusive participation.
To develop structured competitions and youth pathways linked with DUPR.
To support coach and volunteer education for sustainable growth.
Whether you’re a player, parent, coach or school, there’s a place for you in the UKJPA network.

Pickleball has always been more than a game — it’s a way of bringing people together. At UKJPA, we see community engagement as the foundation of everything we do. Whether it’s introducing pickleball in schools, supporting local clubs, or creating inclusive spaces for families to play together, our goal is to make the sport accessible, visible, and enjoyable for everyone.
We're working closely with local councils, community venues, and schools to make pickleball a recognised part of the youth sport offer. Through workshops, taster days, and inter-school events, we aim to show that pickleball can be a fun and low-cost way to stay active, learn new skills, and connect with others.
At the heart of the UK Junior Pickleball Association (UKJPA) is a simple mission — to create a structured, inclusive, and exciting pathway for young people to discover, enjoy, and progress within the sport of pickleball.
We’re building something that extends far beyond single events. Our aim is to develop a nationally connected junior system that complements the great work already being done by Pickleball England, while ensuring that young players have age-appropriate, positive and progressive opportunities to play in local competitions and leagues.
We fully support the national vision led by Pickleball England and aim to operate as a junior-specific development partner—focusing on youth participation, coaching pathways, and DUPR-integrated competition delivery.
Our goals align with Pickleball England’s priorities:
Growing participation and accessibility.
Providing safe and inclusive playing environments.
Developing future-ready coaches and officials.
Creating clear and enjoyable progression routes for all ages.
By working alongside Pickleball England, we aim to complement, not compete—ensuring that junior development becomes a strong, sustainable pillar within the national pickleball landscape.
